 Blueprint for Change

Blueprint for Change

No change occurs until the dream and desire for change is greater than the pain required to change.

If you do not possess an internal desire that overcomes the natural resistance to change, then you are not going to change. If you have dreams and passions that you have not gone after, it is most likely because your resistance is stronger than your desire. Change in itself is uncomfortable. It contains uncertainty and a lot of unknowns.

Though your current situation may be unsatisfying and you desire to change, you may still not want to take the steps required to go to your next level. There is a strange comfort in knowing what will happen next, even if you don't like it. It's a paradox. Therefore, the way that you get moving toward your dreams is by fueling the dream.

You fuel the dream by putting it before you: write it down, talk about it and continually visualize it. All of these are Biblical principles found in Habakkuk chapter 2, v.2 and in Deuteronomy chapter 6, where God told the children of Israel to bind the word upon their fingers, around their necks and keep it before their eyes...(Deut. 6:8)

"Thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and thou shalt talk of them when thou sittest...and when thou walkest...and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." (Deut 6:7)

These are instructions for fueling the dream (The Word).

When you begin to fuel your dream, opposition in your way will not stop you, because you are going to roll over it...whatever it is! If someone is telling you ?no' and you really want it, you just may be talking to the wrong person. (I'm not talking about relationships here, but in a professional setting). Ask to speak to someone else. If you can, take it up with a manager or with the highest person in authority. Many times when people tell us 'no,' we just receive it. "No" does not always mean "no." It means "Try again!"

Some of the wealthiest people we know of, like Donald Trump, have hurdles to overcome continually. Mark Burnett, the producer of reality TV shows Survivor, Apprentice, and The Contender discusses in his book some of the obstacles he has encountered during his climb to success and how he refused to take 'no' for an answer.

On your way to success, don't expect that everything will just happen for you and go your way. Just don't allow the pain to stop you from achieving the change you desire.

Your motivation first comes from your desire to change and from your dream(s). Then, as you begin to fuel the dream, your motivation will sustain you. You will also find once you get started, you will begin to attract the right people around you to help you. A resonance will build as you discover that you have shared dreams and visions and the pieces will begin to fit together. No one is a self-made anything.

The people you attract will fuel your dream. They will believe in you and you, in turn, will fuel their dreams. You will help them achieve levels and go to places they never thought that they could go. That's what it is all about. Your change is not just about you, but about you helping other people - touching others' lives for good. And that is what's truly satisfying about success.
