An Attitude Of Prayer

"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer." Romans 12: 10, 12 King James Version

It is impossible to be on our knees twenty four hours a day in prayer, but we can be in an attitude of prayer constantly. People who have been married for sixty years have told me that they know what their spouse is going to say before he or she says it. They also don't feel the need to talk every minute, but they are there for each other when the other needs or wants to talk.

It is the same with Jesus. We don't need to be talking all the time. There are times when we should be quiet and let Him talk to us. Just as we have burdens on our hearts, He also has burdens on His heart. His heart is burdened constantly with trying to let people know how much He Loves them. He longs to forgive them and assure them of a home in Heaven with Him.

I don't talk to Jesus every minute, nor does He talk to me every minute, but He is here and I am here should we need or desire to say something to each other. Sometimes, when I am praying for someone I don't know what to say, so I just say the person's name and ask Him to meet the need and comfort and encourage the person's heart. He knows exactly what everyone needs and He is the only one who can mend a broken heart.

If we don't love someone, then we are unwilling to spend a lot of time with them. It all comes down to how much we love Jesus and how much time we are willing to give Him. Do you laugh with Him and cry with Him? He holds your hand, but do you hold His hand? Do your words and actions make Him happy? Are you in love with the Saviour of the world?
